Metrics glossary

Clicks, impressions, CTR, position, conversions, and how each is sourced.

Search metrics (Search Console)

  • Clicks - times a user clicked through to your site from search.
  • Impressions - times a result for your site appeared.
  • CTR - clicks divided by impressions.
  • Position - average ranking position; lower is better.

Outcome metrics (GA4)

  • Conversions - completed goals attributed to organic search.
  • Revenue - value tied to those conversions, where available.

Every metric names its source and carries a confidence label where it is modeled rather than measured.
