Key takeaways
- Google Analytics is rolling out Dashboards, a custom grid canvas that consolidates GA4 metrics into one page.
- You build charts by dragging dimensions and metrics onto the canvas, then place and align them manually.
- The feature supports six chart types: score cards, table charts, line charts, bar charts, donut charts and funnel charts.
- A standard GA4 property is capped at 15 cards per dashboard, while a GA4 360 property is capped at 30.
- A saved dashboard can publish directly to the left navigation menu, skipping the library step.
Google Analytics has started rolling out a feature it calls Dashboards: a custom, single-page view built from GA4 data, replacing the habit of clicking between separate reports to check the same set of KPIs. Search Engine Roundtable’s Barry Schwartz reported the rollout on 11 September 2026, and Google’s own help documentation lays out how the canvas works.
What does a GA4 dashboard let you build?
Google’s framing is direct: dashboards exist to “consolidate cross-functional metrics into a single, flexible interface,” so a team stops navigating multiple different reports to see its core business KPIs. The canvas is grid-based, and Google’s help page confirms it supports manual chart placement, alignment and custom dimensions.
Charts are created by dragging dimensions and metrics straight onto the canvas rather than configuring a report first. Google’s own line: “Dashboards are a highly flexible way to help businesses view their KPIs on a single report.” A saved dashboard can also publish directly to the left navigation menu, bypassing the library.
Six chart types are supported:
- Score cards - headline KPIs, with percentage-change comparisons when a date range is applied.
- Table charts - detailed data with shaded bar graphs and pagination.
- Line charts - metrics over time, at daily, weekly or monthly granularity.
- Bar charts - horizontal or vertical, for comparing dimensions.
- Donut charts - how parts contribute to a whole.
- Funnel charts - conversion steps and where users drop off.
How many cards fit on one dashboard?
Google’s help documentation sets a hard ceiling: a standard GA4 property is capped at 15 cards per dashboard, and a GA4 360 (premium) property is capped at 30. Neither source gives a date for when the limits might change.
Is it available on every account yet?
As of the report, Dashboards was still rolling out, so a given property may not show it yet even if the account otherwise looks current. Google’s own wording is simply that “Dashboards are now available in Google Analytics,” without a completion date for the wider rollout.
Why we care
A consolidated KPI view is a small change to technical SEO reporting workflows, but it removes a real amount of friction: a weekly stakeholder update that used to mean screenshotting three or four GA4 reports can become one dashboard with a card limit you plan around from the start. The 15-card ceiling on standard properties is tight enough that it is worth deciding what belongs on the page before you start dragging metrics onto it.
