Sourcing

Every article cites at least one primary source: the announcement itself, the documentation, or the dataset. A secondary report about an announcement is never the only citation. Sources are listed at the foot of every piece with the publisher and the date, and the primary one is marked.

Outbound links to sources are followed. Citing the people you rely on and then telling crawlers not to follow the link is a contradiction, so this site does not do it.

Verification

A number that has no citable source is not published. Where a claim could not be verified against the primary source, the article says what is known and stops, rather than filling the gap with an estimate. Where a source was unreachable at the time of writing, that is stated.

Use of AI

Research, drafting and publication of this site are assisted by AI tooling under human editorial direction. That changes nothing about the standard: the sourcing rules above apply identically, and no claim ships because a model produced it. If a piece cannot be traced to a source, it does not run.

Corrections

Errors are corrected in place, and the correction is stated in the article rather than made silently. The dateModified in the page's structured data reflects the change, so the correction is visible to readers, search engines and answer engines alike. To report an error, email hello@seomadman.com.

Independence

SEO Madman is also a product: an attribution platform built by the same author. Articles that touch on it say so plainly. No coverage is sold, no link is sold, and there is no sponsored placement anywhere on this site.

What this site does not cover

No rank-tracking gossip without a verifiable source. No recycled summaries of other publications' reporting. No predictions presented as findings. The publication has one job: report what changed in search, cite it, and state what it does not settle.
