AI keys, credits, and billing

Your key or our credits

Every AI feature works two ways: bring your own provider key, or spend platform credits. With your own key, AI usage is billed by your provider and costs nothing extra here.

Your provider key is encrypted at rest and never shown back to you, stored in application tables, or written to logs.

Usage caps

Credit usage has a cap so a runaway job cannot drain your balance unexpectedly. When you reach the cap, further AI actions pause until the next cycle or until you add credits.

When you are refunded

If a generation fails before producing a result, the credits reserved for it are refunded. You are only charged for work that completes.

Plan-gated features

Some capabilities are available on higher plans. When a feature is locked on your plan, the screen names the specific capability and links to the plan that unlocks it.
