# Core Web Vitals by CMS, 2025: Duda and Wix lead, WordPress lags

## The short answer

HTTP Archive's 2025 Web Almanac measured Core Web Vitals pass rates for ten CMS platforms using July 2025 CrUX field data. Duda led at 85% of mobile sites passing, TYPO3 followed at 79%, and Wix jumped 14 points to 74%. WordPress stayed near the bottom at 45%, and Weebly was the only platform to decline, slipping to 47%.

The platform a site runs on still predicts whether it passes Core Web Vitals more than most
teams admit. HTTP Archive's 2025 Web Almanac ran its annual CMS chapter against the July 2025
Chrome UX Report dataset and found a 40-point spread between the best and worst of ten major
platforms: Duda's mobile sites passed all three metrics 85% of the time, WordPress's passed 45%
of the time.

## Which platforms pass, and which don't

The chapter's Figure 12.8 tracks the combined Core Web Vitals pass rate, meaning a site has to
clear LCP, CLS and INP together to count as good. Duda topped the list at 85%, TYPO3 CMS followed
at 79%, and Wix posted the single biggest jump of any platform, rising from 55% in 2024 to 74% in
2025. WordPress sat near the bottom at 45%, and Weebly was the only platform in the whole
comparison to lose ground, slipping to 47%.

The Almanac's own framing ties the gap to how much control a platform keeps over its templates
and defaults: "platforms with more tightly managed environments see the largest gains." Wix and
Duda both run closed, vertically integrated builders where the company controls image handling
and script loading by default. WordPress's ecosystem of themes and plugins gives site owners more
freedom and more ways to regress performance, which the chapter treats as the likely reason its
pass rate improves more slowly even as the platform itself keeps shipping optimizations.

## Where the metrics split apart

Looking at each Core Web Vital on its own shows the platforms don't move together. On LCP, Duda
led at 94% and Wix followed at 81%, while the Almanac reports the industry-wide "good" LCP rate
at 54% of all sites. Wix had the largest year-over-year LCP gain at roughly 10 points.

CLS told a different story: Wix itself became the CLS leader, rising from about 86% in 2024 to
95% in 2025, ahead of Duda at 93% and Squarespace at 89%. Weebly was again the outlier, its CLS
pass rate dropping to 58% while WordPress and Joomla held steady near 84%.

INP was the tightest and slowest-moving metric of the three. Squarespace led at 96%, TYPO3 CMS
followed at 95% and Duda at 94%, while 1C-Bitrix and Weebly tied for last at 71%. The Almanac
calls INP progress "modest" compared with LCP and CLS and attributes the slow pace to how hard it
is to manage JavaScript, long tasks and third-party scripts, a problem it says no CMS has solved
at scale yet.

## Why we care

**A CMS choice is a Core Web Vitals starting point, not a guarantee.** A site on Duda or Wix
begins closer to passing by default; a site on WordPress starts further back and depends more on
the theme, plugins and hosting choices layered on top. Neither extreme is fixed: WordPress still
improved year over year, and Weebly proves a managed platform can also regress.

**INP is the metric no platform has cracked.** Even the leaders plateau in the mid-90s and the
laggards sit 25 points behind, a gap the Almanac attributes to third-party scripts and JavaScript
weight rather than anything platform-specific. Teams auditing Core Web Vitals by CMS should treat
INP as the metric least explained by platform choice alone, and the one most worth auditing
script by script regardless of what the site runs on.
