# Google's Reader Revenue Manager page now names AI Mode and Gemini

## The short answer

Google has redesigned the Reader Revenue Manager home page. Its new text says content from subscribers and contributors can appear in a "From your subscriptions" distinction on Google Search, AI Mode, AI Overviews and Gemini, where the old text named a panel on Search, Discover and News products. Google announced no change separately.

## Key takeaways

- Google's Reader Revenue Manager home page now says subscription content can appear in a "From your subscriptions" distinction on Google Search, AI Mode, AI Overviews and Gemini.
- An Internet Archive snapshot from 6 October 2026 shows the old wording, a "From Your Subscriptions" panel on Google Search, Discover and News products.
- The new Advanced features section says readers link their publisher subscription account to their Google account to see your content across Google.
- The page gives no eligibility rules, no traffic data and no launch dates for these surfaces, and it says content "can" appear, not that it will.
- Google's Search Central documentation updates page has no entry about Reader Revenue Manager, and Search Engine Roundtable's report is how the change surfaced.

Google has redesigned the home page of [Reader Revenue Manager](https://readerrevenue.withgoogle.com/),
its tool for publishers who sell subscriptions or take contributions. Search Engine Roundtable's
Barry Schwartz [reported the change](https://www.seroundtable.com/google-updates-reader-revenue-manager-42261.html)
on 9 October 2026. We read the live page and an
[Internet Archive snapshot](https://web.archive.org/web/20261006133203/https://readerrevenue.withgoogle.com/)
from 6 October 2026, and the wording below is what each page shows.

## What did the page change?

Schwartz calls it a large redesign: the page now lists AI Mode, AI Overviews and Gemini, adds a
matrix and moves content around. The headline pitch changed too. The archived page offered to
"grow your revenue and deepen reader engagement". The live page says it helps for-profit and
nonprofit publishers build reader relationships through tools for subscriptions, contributions and
audience insights.

The archived page also carried customer quotes with percentage gains. The live text we read has no
such section, so it cannot be compared line for line.

## Where can it appear now?

This is the change that matters for subscription publishers, and the two pages word it differently:

- **Before:** readers who subscribe or contribute through Reader Revenue Manager "can see your
content featured in a 'From Your Subscriptions' panel on Google Search, Discover, and News products".
- **Now:** they "can see your content featured in a 'From your subscriptions' distinction on Google
Search, AI Mode, AI Overviews, and Gemini".

The word changed from panel to distinction, and Discover and News products are no longer named in
that sentence. The new list adds three [AI search](/topics/ai-search) surfaces: AI Mode, AI Overviews
and Gemini.

## What are the advanced features?

The live page adds a table of Advanced features and says Reader Revenue Manager has two tiers,
Standard and Enterprise. We could not tell from the page text which tier holds which feature, so we
do not list them by tier. The features it names:

- 5-Step Pricing, Metered Read and Bundles
- From your subscriptions and Subscription Linking
- Customizable payment reminder emails
- 1P Customizable Surveys and a Cancellation Survey
- Rewarded Ad, Registration Wall and Newsletter Signup
- CTA Pop-Up Customization and Link Customization in the CTA pop-up

Its "From your subscriptions" entry says the feature lets you promote subscription content on Google
Search, AI Mode, AI Overviews and Gemini. It adds that when existing customers link their publisher
subscription account to their Google account, they can see your content across Google.

## Did Google announce this?

We found no entry for it. Google's
[Search Central documentation updates page](https://developers.google.com/search/updates) does not
mention Reader Revenue Manager, though it does list the
[preferred sources button](/news/google-preferred-sources-custom-button). Schwartz's report is how
the change surfaced, and neither page gives a date for the rewrite.

## What should publishers do?

The page makes claims about where content can appear and nothing about how often or for whom. It
gives no eligibility rules, no click or traffic figures and no launch dates for these surfaces, and
its wording is "can", not "will". Treat it as a description of product direction, not a ranking or
visibility change.

If you already use Reader Revenue Manager, check whether your subscribers have linked their
accounts, since the page ties the distinction to that link. For a wider
[content strategy](/topics/content-strategy), the page now describes subscriber relationships as
something that can carry across Google's AI surfaces.
